Maegis

 

Maegis was incorporated in 1999, and has been delivering training in Gateshead, Sunderland and Middlesbrough since then. The Directors and staff have over 150 years collective experience of industry, business management and training.

 

Maegis Ltd provides specialist training and also manages our subsidiary company which operates a Microsoft IT Academy which delivers many of the courses detailed on this site.

The Team

Max Liversidge - Managing Director and IT Skills Trainer

After doing a PhD in Electrical Engineering, Max Liversidge spent 33 years in the chemical industry - more than half of that time as an IT specialist, and ended up responsible for the technology supporting more than 20,000 users.

 

In September 1999 Max formed Maegis Limited to deliver a context-sensitive help tool to pc users desktops in their "moment of need" and in the summer of 2000, Max established QM Training Ltd and opened the Sunderland and Middlesbrough Training Centres in June 2000. Max has experience of both computer hardware and software and both a Microsoft Office Specialist Master Instructor and a Microsoft Cetified Application Specialist Instructor. He is also a Chartered Engineer, Member of the Institute of Engineering Technology, and an Associate Member of the British Computer Society.

 

Lesley Wharton - Company Secretary, Finance Director and Accounting Trainer

Lesley has worked in many companies in the North East, and has considerable experience of managing accounting training at all levels. She has developed several specialist courses and ensures the best possible support for all trainees.

 

Tony Fairley - Personal Skills Trainer

Tony Fairley has over 30 years of consultancy and management development experience across a wide range of industries. His background covers sales, marketing and customer service in various management and training positions, including National Sales Training Manager with L'Oreal UK and Smiths Food Group.

 

Since 1992 he has operated as a Freelance Training Consultant in IT, Database Marketing, Security and Airport Services and is also Northern Director, and Programme Manager and Specialist Personal Skills Trainer.. He is a fully qualified NVQ Assessor and Internal Verifier and remains at heart a dedicated trainer and management developer.

 

Nichola Deighton - Sunderland Training Centre Manager

Nichola is a Sunderland Football Club supporter and holds ECDL Expert Certification. She is also an Associate Member of the British Computer Society and holds the City and Guilds 7407 Adult Education certificate.

 

Glyn Padley - Technical Training and Support

Glyn provides Workshop training to our IT Students, and telephone and Internet support to distance learners. He has ten years of experience in IT Training

 

David Wharton - Director

David has a wealth of experience of managing people and their relationships, skills which he deploys to the good in our Health and Safety and Personal Skills training. In addition he delivers tailored seminars in computer skills.

 

Jacquie Glendinning - Accounts Administrator

Keeps us in order - and also supports Accounting trainees in our Middlesbrough Centre
