Why Train with Maegis?

Our training system allows you to study at times that suit you, with support from our staff over the internet, by email and by telephone. Additional learning comes through private 1:1 workshops in our training centre at times that suit your schedule (or lectures over the Internet if you are a Distance Learner). Online testing and practice exams show us how you are progressing, help us to give the correct guidance and ensure that you are ready for the real exam.

The system comes at three levels:

  • Learn@M: Self Study with internet support, telephone and e-mail mentoring, and hands-on workshops. Self-study can take 50 – 100 hours per course, and there is no heavy time pressure – although email mentoring lasts for 90 days per course.
  • Lecture@M: Self Study with internet support, online live seminars and mentoring, as well as local hands-on workshops. The online live seminars cycle over a number of weeks – seven for Hardware and seven for Operating Systems. Each seminar cycle runs to a schedule during either 12.00 to 13.30 or 18.30 to 20.00 hours.
  • Lab@M: Self Study with internet support, online live seminars as above and mentoring, as well as local hands-on workshops, and access to a virtual machine over the internet that enables you to practice configuration exercises at any time

Network+ Certification is attained by passing one exam

Earning the CompTIA Network+ designation means that you can describe the features and functions of networking components, and possesses the knowledge and skills needed to install, configure and troubleshoot basic networking hardware, protocols and services. The exam tests four domain areas and the extent to which they are represented is shown in parentheses:

  • Media and Topologies (20%)
  • Protocols and Standards (25%)
  • Network Implementation (23%)
  • Network Support (32%)

The exam covers new technologies such as wireless networking and gigabit Ethernet. The scope of networking systems is broadened, placing an increased emphasis on Linux/Unix, Windows 9x, Windows NT, Windows 2000, Netware and AppleTalk as a network protocol. There is also an increased focus on troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in the areas of network implementation and network support.
