Our A+training system allows you to study at times that suit you, with support from our staff over the internet, by email and by telephone. Additional learning comes through private 1:1 workshops in our training centre at times that suit your schedule (or by lecture over the internet). Online testing and practice exams show how you are progressing and ensure that you are ready for the real exam.

 

The system comes at three levels:

  • Learn@M: Self Study with internet support, telephone and e-mail mentoring, and hands-on workshops. Self-study can take 50 – 100 hours per course, and there is no heavy time pressure – although email mentoring lasts for 90 days per course.
  • Lecture@M: Self Study with internet support, online live seminars and mentoring. The online live seminars cycle over a number of weeks. Each seminar cycle runs to a schedule during either 12.00 to 13.30 or 18.30 to 20.00 hours.
  • Lab@M: Self Study with internet support, online live seminars as above and mentoring, and access to a virtual machine over the internet that enables you to practice configuration exercises at any time without reconfiguring your own computers.

 

The latest version of CompTIA A+ is CompTIA A+ 2009 Edition.

Two exams are necessary to be certified: CompTIA A+ Essentials, exam code 220-701; and CompTIA A+ Practical Application, exam code 220-702.

CompTIA A+ Essentials measures the necessary competencies of an entry-level IT professional with a
recommended 500 hours of hands-on experience in the lab or field. It tests for the fundamentals of
computer technology, networking and security, as well as the communication skills and professionalism now required of all entry-level IT professionals.

CompTIA A+ Practical Application is an extension of the knowledge and skills identified in CompTIA A+ Essentials, with more of a "hands-on" orientation focused on scenarios in which troubleshooting and tools must be applied to resolve problems.

Learn@M costs £545 plus VAT - but MUST be studied in our Training Centres.
For Distance Learners:

Lecture@M costs £995 plus VAT
Lab@M costs £1095 plus VAT

Remember that a CompTIA exam costs £115 plus VAT – you will sit two exams

Duration of learning

If you study in our Training Centres, we would expect you to complete the course within on year.

If you study as a Distance Learner, this time will double to two years.
