The Office of Government Commerce has produced the Prince2 system for managing Projects In Contolled Environments...OGC passed management of the product to Acelos, and exams are accredited by the Association of Project Managers
Our five-day interactive workshop is held in our Middlesbrough Centre every couple of months, with three days on one week, a weekend "off" and then two days the following week,
All materials are provided, including a twelve hour pre-course workbook and the official Acelos Manual, and the certification exams in our Centre
We also offer online and distance learning courses in the Foundation and Practitioner levels - study online at times that suit your schedule.
The Foundation part of the course covers all the basics of the system - Seven Principles, Seven Themes and Seven Processes.
The PRINCE2 themes:
- Business Case -Organization - Quality - Plans - Risk - Change - Progress
The Processes - Starting up a Project, Initiating a Project, Directing a project, Controlling a stage, Managing product delivery, Managing stage boundaries, Closing a project (CP)
The Principles are Continued business justification, Manage by exception, Learn from experience, Defined roles and responsibilities, Manage by stages, Focus on products, and Tailoring
The Foundation course requires 6 hours per day with homework on the first two evenings, and includes practice exams.
In the PRINCE2 Practitioner exam, theme-based questions require the candidate to understand the relevance of the theme across the project lifecycle and to consider in detail how the theme impacts on product delivery. The exam is three-hour, open book.
